Okay, I see some consistency here. Read "The Border" by A.H. Lee, second book in The Knight and the Necromancer, and it was a pretty nice cozy-scary read.
About the Book: Sairis the Necromancer, wanted, dead more than alive, with the only prospect of life if caught - with a mage's collar that drives his kind to self inflicted death, is trying to navigate between hunters from all fronts. But despite the danger, he must do his best and warn, however mad, his beloved of the traitors in the midst of people surrounding him. Preferably before they fully convince him Sairis is the one who betrayed everyone...
My Opinion: This was a fairly fun read, well paced between events, actions, and moments of calm. An interesting view and take on necromancy, and a fairly diverse cast of interesting characters.
I think I'll read another one. Solid 4 out of 5.
